February 19, 2008: After a rain, the field is wet and muddy. Note the piles of dirt in the center of the photo.

Workers are scooping up debris-- in this case, old trees and shrubs-- and putting it into the dumpster at the right.

Debris being put into a dumpster.

A worker surveys the field. They cannot take away too much soil.

The worker's profile gives one a sense of how big the mounds of topsoil are.

Meanwhile, down at the end of the field, other things are happening.

This water-filled trough gives one a sense of how much rainfall we've recently received.

A huge retaining wall is being constructed along the West perimiter.

The capped rebar gives one a sense of how high the retaining wall will go.

A pipe is coming out of the ground.

Here's an old section of the old wall of the Eastern perimiter of the field.

The dark hill of topsoil has been recently made. In all, workers will take up to two feet of soil from the field.

February 21, 2008: Here's a panoramic view of the field.

Construction "honchos" discuss the progress of the project.

More scraping of the topsoil needs to be done.

A view of the project from just outside of the Gym.

Sandbags mark the perimiter of the dig.

This end of the field just does not look the same without the old eucalyptus trees.

February 23, 2008: Here's a panoramic shot of the project. Notice how wet the field is from recent rains: more rain came the night these shots were taken.

The rain should take some time to soak down.

Tarp keeps some of the topsoil hills dry.

Another panoramic view of the project.

A view of a vertical pipe.

This is a view from the patio just outside of the President's office.

Soon, the debris and the hills of topsoil will be taken away.
