Gallery # 12 - April 10-11, 2008

April 10, 2008: Eight photos were combined to make this panoramic view of the field from the Southwest corner of the property.

Much pipe and conduit are installed into this trench.

Near the entrance to the worksite, gravel covers a trench.

These trenches, near the baseball batting cages, are deep.

Concrete will soon be poured into the forms and over the rebar.

A curb lies along the fence, just above the Annex.

Another view of the area next to the baseball batting cages.

Rebar poking out of the curb in the center of this photo suggests the curb will be extended.

Work being done along another trench.

This trench, open earlier in the week, has been filled in.

The ground adjacent to the Annex and the Casa Italiana is now level.

Tape marks an open trench.

Soon, there will be another curb where this form lies.

The curb is almost down to the West end of the field.

The pipe will be cut down to size once the above ground work is done.

Some trenches have barrier material, while others do not.

Presumably, the pile of gravel to the left will go in the trench to the right.

Soon, a curb at the periphery of the field will be poured.

A view of the swale between the field and the property line will carry away excess water during rainstorms.

Another view of the swale.

The work abuts St. Bridget's Church.

Soon, the apartment buildings behind the field will be obscured by a fence.

Boards for concrete forms are being laid out.

Note how deep this trough is below the adjacent sidewalk.

Martin Farfan, pictured at upper right, is showing some people the field.

Concrete outside of the "victory tunnel" had to be dug up in order for pipes to be connected with the building.

Many pipes run along the brick wall that separates the field from the fire lane.

The work area in the center of the field is growing a bit smaller by the week.

Rebar along the edge of the field suggests a new wall is coming up.

April 12, 2008: The view from the roof of the Brothers House shows the progress of the project.

A close-up of the view from the roof of the Brothers House shows the recently filled-in trench encircling the field.

A view of the field from Radio Hill, overlooking the campus gives another perspective on the enormity of the project.

Another view of the project.

Soon, our field should be as green as the lawn on the Cornfields, to the left of the photo.

Yet another view.
