Gallery # 15 - April 25, 2008

April 25, 2008: The track has been paved; the far side of the field is being covered with a tarp. Meanwhile, a layer of gravel has been spread over the tarp on the near side of the field.

This composite of five photographs show the newly-paved track, with the bleachers laid over the pavement between the track and the fence.

From the patio outside the gym, one gets a good view of the field, with the Downtown skyscrapers in the background.

Neat piles of brick wait for installation.

Brick walls are rising between the two posts nearest to us.

The pink and yellow string show where the brick walls will go.

A view from the ground shows the rebar where posts will be constructed.

Soon, the area between the new fence and the Senior Building will have more room for lunch lines and such.

This composite of five pictures show progress on the new walls being raised.

The surface of the track has a beautiful surface.

Much work has been done in just the past few weeks.

A view of the basketball courts. Soon, they will be available, along with our brand new track and field!

A pole rises above the newly-paved surface.

The same pole from a different perspective.

Soon, the uprooted underbrush will be taken away.

The gravel will soon be spread over the tarp.

This is what left of one of the PVC pipes that stuck out of the ground.

The track seems to go right into one of the apartment buildings.

Another post rises in a corner of the bleachers.

This corner of the campus is much cleaner.

The far end of the field, looking towards the apartments and St. Bridget's Parish Church.

Soon, a fence will block easy access to the swale.

Only a couple of weeks ago, the area of the blacktop went down more than 10 feet.

A worker bends some conduit at the far side of the field, next to the retaining wall.

Four pictures were stitched together to show a view from the Southwest corner of campus.

Five pictures were stitched together to show the track and field from another perspective.

These beams await eventual installation. Note the twin curbs, with the wood plank between them. They form a drainage channel.

Yet another pole near the bleachers below the MHR Conference Room.

Soon, turf will grace the field.

Another view of the field.

These metal pieces will soon be installed.

The channel formed by the two curbs will have this durable plastic screen to make a level surface.

A close-up view of the channel between the two curbs. Notice the notched corners where the screen will be placed.

Work continues on this structure.

Yet another concrete pole rises, this time alongside the curved wall.

This part of the gutter alongside Bishops Road is still covered.
